"In Bloom: A Creative Ride with Yaroslava"
There are rare moments as a photographer when the subject becomes the guide. Yaroslava takes me on a ride.
Originally from Ukraine, she is a florist, a visual poet, and a true muse. Her presence in front of the camera is one of the most natural I’ve ever experienced — effortless, intuitive, and alive. She doesn’t pose; she flows. And when she does, I follow.
Her flower arrangements carry that same energy. You don’t just see them; you feel transported — into paintings, into magical worlds, into scenes that seem both real and imagined. Whether with petals or presence, Yaroslava tells stories. Every frame is a chapter in that story.
We shot this series at the end of the day, in the softest low light, right on my street. And yet it felt like we were somewhere else entirely — a secret garden tucked between moments. The timing, the light, the energy… it was just perfect.
She wore a vintage green Halston dress — a piece that seemed destined for the moment. Its flowing pleats echoed the massive bird of paradise leaves surrounding us. Nature and fabric moved in unison, the greens melting together in a quiet harmony that felt like a whisper from the earth.
Yaroslava reminds me why I love photography — because sometimes, the subject is the art.
